Why a master's thesis needs its own read

A master's thesis is often the first long document its author has written, and it is written fast, in one or two semesters, often alongside coursework. The problems that follow are predictable: chapters written months apart that use different terms, a literature review that cites sources missing from the bibliography, an abstract written before the results changed. Your supervisor will catch some of them, but their time is limited and better spent on your argument and your method. The Thesis Review reads the whole document and reports these, with language and structure, in one report. It costs $99, paid before the review runs, for up to 400 pages. This is the same review whatever the length of your thesis.

Before you upload

1. Finish every chapter

The review is most useful on a complete draft: the cross-chapter checks need the whole document.

2. Write the abstract last

If your results changed after you wrote it, update it first. The review checks the abstract against the expected elements.

3. Run your own pass

The thesis self-review checklist finds the problems you can fix yourself in an afternoon.

4. Upload the main text

PDF or Word, up to 400 pages. Appendices can stay out.

Master's Thesis Review questions

Structure (missing or misplaced sections, headings, transitions), language (grammar, typos, unclear phrasing), the title and abstract, citations against the bibliography, figures and tables against their mentions, and acronyms. Each finding points to the passage and suggests a fix.
